Community Book Share – A Community Effort
Carn Brea Parish Council are proud to provide three Community Book Share facilities within the red BT telephone boxes at Penhallick, Carn Brea Village, outside the Village Institute and at the Countryman Inn car park at Piece.
These book share phone boxes are maintained by the Council and supported by the community. By respecting the space and contributing thoughtfully, you help keep this initiative alive for everyone.
Reading a book is one of life’s great pleasures. It inspires imagination, broadens knowledge and encourages creativity. We hope you all will use the Book Shares and help us care for them.
Thank you for being part of something special, happy reading!
How it works:
These book-sharing spaces are free, accessible to all and rely on the kindness and cooperation of our community. It is simple, take a book to enjoy. If you have a book you know longer want, leave it for someone else to enjoy.

- Keep the phone box tidy and organised.
- Make sure books are suitable for a wide audience.
- Close the door properly to protect books from weather.
Please do not: - Leave damaged, moldy or unsuitable books.
- Use the space for rubbish or non book items.
- Overfill the shelves. If it is full, please come back another time.
