Our Neighbourhood Plan Steering group has now been formed and set up.
The members of the Steering Group are a combination of volunteers from the community and
Carn Brea Parish Council councillors, who will act as the link between the Council and the
The volunteers from the community came forward in response to our initial public consultation
earlier in the year.
The Steering Group had its first meeting in May 2018. Between May and July 2018 the group
have met, and spent some time setting up the structure and administration of the group and its meetings.
The Chair of the Steering Group is local resident Peter Barrett and the Vice Chair is Angela Blakeway. Their contact details can be found below.
Six topic areas have been identified for our Neighbourhood Plan and topic working groups are
beginning to meet to discuss our options within those topic areas.
The topic areas are:
- Infrastructure, Community Facilities and Services
- Open/Green Spaces and Recreation
- Heritage, Conservation and the Built Environment
- Housing Provision
- Business & Retail
- Traffic, Transport and Parking
The Steering Group are working on an engagement and consultation strategy with the community - we will soon be contacting community groups, schools, businesses and churches in the Parish area to get the community's view on the above topics - how the community feels about their current provision and what improvements may be needed in the future.
